A timeless & elegant wedding day.

It was so fun seeing Shae + Nick's wedding day vision come to life. Their wedding felt like a dream come true, and I can't stop obsessing over how perfect every single detail was. The morning started off bright + early in downtown Madison, at the Madison Club. Shae + her party were already getting hair and make up started by the time I arrived. I grabbed her dress and brought to the staircase because -- well, look at that staircase! Next I worked on the rest of her details nearby the getting ready suite. Shortly after, Nick arrived, and the couple swapped gifts and letters. Shae received a beautiful, engraved bottle of perfume. Nick got a watch, a custom sweater with their wedding date in roman numerals, and a pair of socks that said "foreva eva". So cute!

Nick got dressed and ready for the first look, and then I headed back upstairs for Shae to get into her dress. First Shae shared a moment with her father, which was so cute. Then it was time to see Nick! Needless to say, he was absolutely stunned by his beautiful bride! I am so absolutely grateful to Shae because she wanted to block off 1.5 hours just for couple portraits, so we got to take our time and get some really great shots! :') We started off inside the capitol building, and then made our way outside. The wedding party met up with us soon after, followed by their families for family portraits.

And then it was time for the ceremony to begin. Guests filled up the room, and opened up their copies of the Newlywed Times. The ceremony was absolutely lovely, and so customized to Nick + Shae as a couple! After the ceremony, cocktail hour kicked off in the room next door, with a gorgeous view of Lake Monona and the Monona Terrace. I snuck downstairs to peek at the reception room, and capture all of the stunning details. Soon after, guests headed down for dinner. We had an absolutely delicious meal, accompanied by some very creative speeches -- Shae's dad's speech was so funny!

Before the dancefloor opened up, we first played the photo table dash -- the game where we go around to every table and take a photo before the end of 1 song. I 1000% recommend this game to all couples because it's the best and quickest way to get photos with all of your guests. Then we quickly snuck out for some golden hour photos, and one of Shae's guests may or may not have let us into a city building to take some very justice-themed photos (because both Shae + Nick have studied/work in justice-related fields, so it's SO fitting). When we returned, Shae + Nick kicked off the dancing with their first dance, followed by parent dances. And then, WHAT A DANCEFLOOR! I had a good feeling this would be a fun group, and I was right! It was so much fun dancing the night away with this group!

It was such a memorable day! I am so thankful for the lovely assistance + work of Cara Wood, who shot this wedding with me. And, a big congrats to S+N!
