Adam + Mackenzie's Wedding Day

Mackenzie & Adam's wedding was such a perfect day! I originally met these two when I second shot for Mackenzie's sister's wedding a few years back. When that photographer was already booked, she referred them over to me, and I was so happy to work with these two!

I arrived early in the morning to the salon in La Crosse, Wisconsin where Mackenzie & her girls were already getting their hair & make up done. After snapping a few photos of the ladies getting ready, I headed back to the hotel to photograph the dress and all of Mackenzie’s other details. Soon after, Mackenzie & the ladies arrived to pop some champagne and get dressed. With the help of her sister and mom, Mackenzie got on her gorgeous gown, and she was ready to go!

Since we were on schedule, my second photographer, Cara, and I both headed over to meet up with Adam, and we left the ladies to their lunch. The groomsmen were watching the postponed Bucks game when we arrived, but we managed to pull Adam away to get his suit on. And then just like that, it was time for him to see his beautiful bride for the first look!

Cara & I walked back over to where Mackenzie was staying and got her in place. First we had Mackenzie’s father do a first look, and his reaction to his little girl on her wedding day was priceless! When Adam arrived, we hid Mackenzie again, and spun him around so he couldn’t peek. The two shared the moment of seeing each other for the first time, and it was so precious!

After that, we walked over to the park for a few portraits and for Adam to read Mackenzie’s letter (she had read his earlier). We met up with the bridal party for some fun photos around the area, but before we knew it, it was time to head over to the ceremony space.

We arrived at the Bittersweet Greenhouse, and quickly got into position to get these two married! With family & friends arriving to the outdoor space, and slight clouds overhead on a gorgeous summer day, it couldn't have been more perfect! Mackenzie’s mother sang as Mackenzie walked down the aisle with her father, and Adam waited at the alter. They exchanged vows & made it official with a kiss! Next, after family photos, we headed to the bluffs for more bridal party portraits. And oh my, it was SO GORGEOUS up there! The view from the top never gets old!

Then it was time to head back to the greenhouse for the grand march. The reception space was so beautifully decorated with an elegant touch of greenery & succulents! After a very delicious dinner (that we ate soooo quickly), it was time for speeches (that left everyone laughing so, so much!), followed by the first dances. And as a family tradition, Mackenzie & her dad performed a very special choreographed dance. And then, as everyone knows, it was my favorite time of day - golden hour! So we hopped outside to the marsh for a few more portraits. We topped off the night with cake, shots, and a little dancing. After a very wonderful day, it was time for me to say goodnight to the happy couple.

Congratulations to Mackenzie & Adam, and thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of this absolutely perfect day! I am so happy to have been able to capture it, and also to have worked alongside such a great team of vendors.
