Mason + Jade's Wedding Day

Jade and Mason shared such a lovely late summer day! It was a refreshingly cooler August day with a tad bit of overcast, but the rain held off for the most part. In the morning we started at the salon on the west side of Madison, owned by one of Jade’s bridesmaid's mother, Peg, who has done her hair for every special event in her life. How special that Peg could do Jade’s hair for her wedding, too! A friend of Jade’s came to do her make-up, and it turned out stunning.

The ladies got their finishing touches done, and I headed over to Hotel Indigo to get a sneak peak of the dresses and flowers. Hotel Indigo is a newer hotel in downtown Madison on East Washington, and it’s in the renovated Mautz Paint Company building, and it is so cool. Everywhere in the building is so carefully decorated in a very modern yet historic way. The ladies arrived shortly after I did, and Jade got dressed with the help of her bridesmaids. She and her ladies all looked amazing!

Then I met up with the groom and his groomsmen in the lobby, where the coordinator, Cassie helped get the boutonnieres on. They finished up their drinks, and then it was time for the first look. When Mason first saw Jade was such a precious moment! I could tell these two are just made for each other. We did the group photos all in the hotel in front of their super neat wall of paint cans. Then, we explored all of the hotel’s cool sights for the bride and groom session. We walked around the block and got some more photos before heading to the Goodman Community Center for the ceremony.

The ceremony was short and sweet, officiated by Jennifer Soule of Uncommon Ceremonies. The Goodman Community Center is such a neat little industrial, east-side ceremony space! We then headed to the High Noon Saloon to get the party started. The dinner was absolutely delicious, catered by Hyvee. Then, some impromptu speeches were given, and Jade’s brother sang for the newlyweds and it was fantastic!

We snuck out after that to take a few pictures in a median on East Washington Ave. We had to get some with Madison’s beautiful capitol building as a backdrop! Then the couple shared their first dance, and their parent dances. Everyone filled the dance-floor after that and had a great time! It was a wonderful day, all in all! I am so honored to have been a part of it.
