A plant-inspired summer tented celebration.

Grant + Mikaela had such a fun wedding day! I started out the morning with Mikaela and her bridesmaids at her apartment. Immediately upon arriving I was obsessed with all of their plants! I got started on her details right away, and it made sense that Mikaela decided to arrange all of her own florals. They were gorgeous, and so inspiring! Since she did her own, there were lots of left over blooms for me to utilize for the lay flats. My favorite touch was the monstera leaf (from their apartment) in Grant's boutonniere. She also made her own invites, which were so cute! The best part of all though, was her dress. It was a vintage find from Etsy, and her mother-in-law customized it to be the perfect dress. She also customized her veil by dying it to get the perfect match to her dress. Not only all of that, Mikaela did all the signage and stationary for the whole day! She is so incredibly talented. Meanwhile, Cara, the second photographer headed right to the venue to meet up with the groomsmen. It looks like they had a ton of fun doing all the group photos!

Once the ladies were dressed and ready, we headed over to the venue, too. Somehow, by a miracle, the rain continued to hold off so we could do all of our portraits. It started to rain as we all hid away for the ceremony to begin. We even got umbrellas prepped and ready for each wedding party member, but the rain slowed down right before the ceremony began. The ceremony itself was so lovely! They shared their vows to each other and re-affirmed their commitment to each other. It was so sweet!

We got the perfect amount of time without any rain to get family photos and couple portraits! Then everyone mingled and enjoyed cocktail hour. After we all sat for dinner, we heard a few heart-felt speeches from Grant and Mikaela's family and friends. The couple cut the cake (and ate some rice krispies), and then shared their first dance as a married couple. The dancefloor opened and it was time to party! The storm rolled in, but that didn't stop anyone from dancing the night away. After it cleared up a bit, a rainbow formed, so I knew I had to grab the couple to see if they wanted to do some evening photos. I'm so glad they did, because the photos turned out so cool!

I am so glad Grant + Mikaela chose me to capture their wedding day. Shout out to Cara Wood, who shot this day alongside me. She's the absolute best! Congrats M+G!
